As I practice orthodontics more and more, I know I chose an amazing field where I can not only deliver beautiful smiles but make a real impact in patients’ lives and form lasting relationships with them. Ultimately, I want to own or partner with someone to provide phenomenal, state of the art care with a hometown feel. I want my practice to be involved in the community and give back to the patients.
I am currently working in various offices in NJ and NY. I came back to the area after working in Austin, TX at Kunik Orthodontics for a couple years. I hope this will give you a better idea of who I am in addition to the resume that I have attached. I originally grew up in a small town in upstate NY, Poughkeepsie to be exact, where IBM had a pretty big presence in our community. My parents ended up moving to Korea during my senior year of high school because my dad switched jobs. I went on to attend Princeton for college and majored in Sociology. I was fortunate enough to attend Harvard School of Dental Medicine where the small class size allowed us to receive an excellent education and personalized attention.
After dental school, I moved back to NY to continue my orthodontic residency at Columbia University where I have learned a lot clinically, treating over a hundred cases with a variety of malocclusions. This program is very strong clinically with us seeing patients every day, from 9am to 5pm. Not only are we trained in craniofacial abnormalities, interdisciplinary care, and surgical cases, we are exposed to a variety of treatment modalities and techniques. From multiple bracket systems, TADS, Invisalign, Insignia, soft tissue laser therapy to Propel, I have experience with them all. Our clinic also has state of the art equipment that includes digital radiography, paperless charting, digital models, and cone beam CT. Additionally, I was also very fortunate to work with one of my attending faculty members at his private practice on Fifth Avenue, and have experience of multitasking, handling multiple chairs simultaneously, managing patient expectations, educating patients, etc. I found a great opportunity to work in Austin, TX at a very Invisalign-heavy practice where we focused on providing orthodontic in the most aesthetic and comfortable way possible. At Kunik Orthodontics, I learned how to manage a full schedule with ages ranging from 7 year olds to 80 plus year olds. These past two years, I learned tremendously from Dr. Randy Kunik, who has treated over 4,000 Invisalign cases, and from my well-trained staff, who know how to operate a four location, successful practice.
I have CPR, OSHA, HIPPA, Invisalign certification
