Additional Information
My ultimate career objective is to own and operate a dental clinic. It has long been a dream of mine and I feel as though I will be most fulfilled in being my own boss. Additionally I would like to eventually arrange splitting time between my own practice as well as a clinic which treats more low-income patients.
Creighton University afforded me great clinical experience in restorative dentistry, oral surgery (>90 extractions YTD), fixed and removable prosthodontics, endodontics (14 canals YTD), periodontics, and pedodontics. During my time at Creighton, I was given 27 clinic hours per week to invest into my experience. I was able to perform these diverse procedures in great quantities partly because we didn’t have specialty programs and any case I chose to undertake from my own patient family remained mine. Even beyond that I have made it a priority to take every hour of clinic time to exceed my requirements and to gain as much experience as possible while trying to seize every opportunity to be exposed to new and interesting treatments and modalities.
Beyond the scope of clinic, I understand that all of my training in dentistry from Creighton is not what will ultimately make me successful as a clinician, business owner, or associate. I know that having a good understanding of the business itself as well as how to market myself and the clinic I work at is an indispensable asset. I then decided to establish a marketing media company while in dental school which specializes in digital marketing and advertising for several wellness and aesthetics businesses in California and Nebraska. Under my leadership, my company has seen these businesses increase in profit by a margin of >250% in the first 6 months. I am excited to bring my knowledge of marketing along with my dental experience to server the patients and community supporting my future clinic and career.
Anyone who has met me has told me that I am a hard worker. This stems from the fact that I am a first generation dentist, and in fact the first to receive a doctorate degree. As the son of a hard working mechanic and collision craftsman who has owned a family auto repair shop for 90 years, I’ve gained priceless experience in building relationships with customers by gaining their trust and exceeding their expectations. I’ve also come to understand that in order to be the most well-rounded clinician, I have to apply these same principles I’ve learned in my adolescence.
